Fashion, food & design destination: San Miguel de Allende

¡Hola mis amores! Les escribo desde Los Ángeles, feliz después de haber estado el fin de semana pasado en San Miguel de Allende, uno de mis lugares favoritos en México. Como fanática de la moda, el arte, el diseño y la gastronomía, les quiero platicar sobre un concepto que está increíble porque reúne todo esto en un mismo espacio: Dôce 18 Concept House. 

Hi my loves! I'm currently in LA and writing you this post after having an amazing weekend in San Miguel de Allende, one of my favorite places in Mexico. As a big fan of fashion, art, design and gastronomy, I want to talk about a concept that is incredible as it brings all of this together in the same space: Dôce 18 Concept House.

Desde el momento en el que llegué a la que todavía es conocida localmente como la “Casa Cohen”, amé ver cómo el pasado se fusiona con el presente y lo tradicional con lo contemporáneo en un mismo edificio. Antes de ser este espacio dedicado a mostrarle al mundo la diversidad creativa y apoyar el talento nacional e internacional, esta casa era una comercializadora (literalmente) de telas, perfumes, velas y muchos otros alimentos hasta que se convirtió en una fábrica de muebles, mosaicos y accesorios. Años después, Roy y Sally Azar la seleccionaron como venue para esta nueva propuesta que es única en nuestro país. Además de platicarles sobre la historia de este lugar, me gustaría compartirles más sobre lo que pueden encontrar en Dôce 18 Concept House y qué es lo que más me gustó. 

From the moment I arrived at what is still known locally as the "Casa Cohen", I fell in love with the building. Before being a platform dedicated to show the world the creative diversity and support national and international talent, this house was a market place (literally) that sold fabrics, perfumes, candles and many other foods until it became a furniture factory, mosaics and accessories. Years later, Roy and Sally Azar selected it as a venue for this new proposal that is unique in Mexico. After telling you about the history of this place, I would like to share more about what you can find in Dôce 18 Concept House and what I liked the most about it.

Ya saben que mi amor por la comida y todo lo que gira alrededor de ella, es infinito jaja. Algunos de los lugares que están en esta plataforma son:

Spice Market

Lo primero que pude ver cuando llegamos, fue este lugarcito que tiene las mejores mezclas de especias, condimentos y semillas. Es lo máximo para comprar aderezos, infusiones y sales.

The first thing I saw when we arrived, was this little place that had the best mixtures of spices, condiments and seeds. Here you can buy dressings, infusions and salt.

Jacinto 1930

Además de tener una decoración súper cool que hace referencia a las típicas cocinas mexicanas de antaño, la comida que está inspirada en el maíz y sus miles de formas de prepararse, es una delicia. 

Its decoration is a tribute to the typical Mexican cuisine and the food is inspired by the corn and its various cooking methods. 

Panio

Ya saben que no puedo vivir sin café y que tampoco puedo resistirme a una pieza de pan. Antes de salir a caminar, pasábamos por americano a este lugar es que una de las mejores panaderías y reposterías de México y que nació de San Miguel de Allende. 

I can't live without coffee and bread. Before going for a walk, we ate at this place and is one of the best bakeries and pastry shops in Mexico and that was created in San Miguel de Allende.

¿Hay algo más cool que un lugar en el que puedes hacer una cata de tés? Aquí tuve la oportunidad de probar lo que ya conocía de una forma diferente y guiada por un experto.

Is there anything better than a place where you can have a tea tasting? Here I had the opportunity to try what I already knew in a different way while being guided by an expert.

WEAR

El clima de San Miguel es delicioso. Se presta perfecto para usar esa ropa que no te puedes poner en la ciudad. Mis prendas favoritas para lucir en estas calles coloniales son los vestidos boho chic (que van súper ad hoc con la esencia de la ciudad), camisas  bordadas, botines, sombreros y lentes de sol. Busca combinar tus vestidos o faldas con denim. 

The weather in San Miguel is great. It is sunny but not too hot. Perfect for wearing the clothes you can not use in the city. My favorite looks are boho chic dresses, embroidered blouses, boots, hats and sunglasses. You can combine them with denim.

Y hablando de moda, Dôce 18 Concept House tiene un espacio en el que exhibe las creaciones de los mejores diseñadores mexicanos e internacionales que comenzaron sus marcas en San Miguel de Allende. Además de tener una Pop-Up Store con diseñadores invitados como mi amado Kris Goyri, Sandra Weil o Raquel Orozco, tienen otras marcas como de joyería y accesorios increíbles como Armour, Recreo o Blackfin.

And speaking of fashion, Dôce 18 Concept House has a space in which it exhibits the creations of the best Mexican and international designers who started their brands in San Miguel de Allende. In addition to having a Pop-Up Store with guest designers like my beloved Kris Goyri, Sandra Weil and Raquel Orozco, they have other brands that sell jewelry and other incredible accessories such as Armor, Recreo and Blackfin.

SLEEP

En la planta alta de este lugar están 10 habitaciones con un diseño único. ¿Vieron la increíble alberca en mis stories? Además, la ubicación es súper céntrica ya que está a unos minutos del Museo Histórico de San Miguel cerquita de la Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel.

I stayed at L’Ôtel, Dôce18 Concept House. It has 10 rooms and suites with a unique design, located at the top floor of the iconic Cohen House. Did you see the pool in my Instagram stories? Also, there is a Concept House where you can find art, design, fashion, and of course, food.

Si quieren un fin de semana relajado, pero lleno de historia y cultura, además de comida deliciosa jaja, no duden en visitar San Miguel de Allende.  ¡Les va a fascinar!

Las razones que te harán valorar más tu Domingo

¡Feliz domingo, mis amores! Seguramente ustedes también han conocido algunas personas que creen que para tener éxito laboralmente, hay que renunciar a la vida personal. En mi experiencia, les puedo decir que para hacer realidad lo que nos proponemos sí hay que trabajar muy duro pero también es necesario lograr equilibrar ambos para saborear nuestros logros. Hoy les hice este post para platicarles por qué disfrutar de un buen domingo les hará tener más pila y ser más productivos mañana. Espero que les guste. 

Happy Sunday, my loves! Have you also met some people who believe that in order to succeed at work, we have to give up our personal lives? I think that to achieve great things we have to work very hard but it is also necessary to balance both to have a chance to enjoy our achievements. Today I wrote this post to tell you why enjoying this Sunday will make you have more energy, avoid depression and be more productive tomorrow.

Es un buen momento para estar con las personas que amamos.

Todos necesitamos del amor, el cariño y el apoyo de nuestra familia y amigos. Independientemente de lo ocupado que pensemos estar, necesitamos de otros en la vida. ¡Disfruta cada momento con ellos sin poner resistencia! Estoy segura de que vivirás buenas experiencias y tendrás grandes recuerdos. 

It is a good time to be with the people we love.

We all need the love, affection and support of our family and friends. No matter how busy we think we are, we need others. Enjoy every moment with them without putting up resistance! I'm sure that you'll live good experiences and you'll make great memories.

Un buen desayuno: Ya saben que esta es de mis partes favoritas del día y algunos de mis restaurantes favoritos para desayunar son el Carolo, Lalo y Ojo de Agua. El café es delicioso y también los bowls.  

I recommend you

A good breakfast: You already know that this is one of my favorite parts of the day and some of my favorite restaurants for breakfast are Carolo, Lalo and Ojo de Agua. The coffee is delicious and also fruit bowls. 

Comer rico: Si como yo amas los mariscos y el sushi el Japonez, el Contramar o La Docena son una gran opción para pasar el día en familia o con amigos. 

Eat good food: If you love seafood and sushi like me, Contramar, La Docena and El Japonez are great to spend the day with family or friends.

Cerrar el día con un helado: Uff!! De solo escribirlo y pensarlo se me antojo uno. Me gustan mucho Roxy, Ice Cream Nation o Joselo porque puedes llegar caminando y comértelo viendo el parque de enfrente. 

Have an ice cream: I really like Roxy, Ice Cream Nation and Joselo because you can walk and eat your dessert at the same time while watching the park in front of you.

Es perfecto para olvidar el estrés. 

Tener tiempo de calidad contigo, te ayudará a sentirte sano, tranquilo y feliz. Hoy, asegúrate de darte un espacio en el día para terminar tus pendientes personales, ir de shopping o descansar.

Having quality time will help you feel healthy, calm and happy. Today make sure you finish your personal errands, go shopping or just relax.

Salir a correr o caminar: El parque La Mexicana me encanta porque además de ser un gran lugar para hacer ejercicio, encuentras café y cosas deliciosas a la mitad del camino jajaja. También amo Commando, Siclo y Beatbox. 

I recommend you

Going for a run or walk: I really enjoy going to La Mexicana because besides being a great place to exercise, you find coffee and delicious things hahaha. I also love Commando, Siclo and Beatbox. 

Darte un masaje: Hay muchos que me gustan pero los de Hela Spa o los del Spa de Liverpool y el St. Regis son ricos por sus técnicas relajantes y por sus instalaciones. 

Getting a massage: There are many that I like but those that Hela Spa, St, Regis or Liverpool Spa offer, have relaxing techniques and great facilities.

Ir al salón de belleza: Me encantan muchísimos pero si lo que buscas es que te consientan con un buen manicure y pedicure, Handlab, Orange Theory o Siete30 son de mis lugares favoritos. 

Going to the beauty salon: If you're looking for a good manicure and pedicure, Handlab, Orange Theory or Siete30 are some of my favorite places.

Es el mejor día para dormir bien. 

Tengo que aceptar que a veces me cuesta trabajo dormir bien y por eso este tema es una de mis prioridades. Lo mejor que puedes hacer es planear irte a dormir y despertarte a una hora específica. Calcula cuántas horas de sueño necesitas y quédate con ese número hasta que las cumplas. No hay nada mejor que empezar la semana después de haber descansado. 

It is the best day to sleep well.

Sometimes I don't sleep well and that is why this is one of my priorities. The best thing you can do is plan to go to sleep and wake up at a specific time. Calculate how many hours of sleep you need and keep that number until you get them. There is nothing better than starting the week after having a good night's sleep.

¡Las mil razones para decirle sí al pelo corto!

¡Feliz miércoles, mis amores! Estoy en Los Ángeles y desde hace mucho quería cortarme el pelo otra vez. Tengo que aceptar que la primera vez que me hice un cambio radical de look hace poquito sí me costó trabajo decidir entre dejarme el pelo largo o no. Coco Chanel decía que cuando una mujer se corta el pelo, está por cambiar su vida y no sé ustedes pero yo volvía a recurrir a las manos mágicas de Sal Salcedo, uno de mis hair stylists favoritos en esta ciudad para disfrutar del verano sin preocuparme por cuidarme el pelo o tener que peinarlo diario. Si tú también quieres cambiar por un tiempo, 100% te recomiendo que te atrevas a hacerlo. Para motivarte, te dejo algunas de las muchas razones para decirle sí al pelo corto.

Happy Wednesday my loves! I'm currently in LA and for a long time now I've been wanting to get a little trim for my hair. I have to say that the first time I cut it short recently was really nervous and was indecisive whether to do it or not. Coco Chanel once said that a woman who cut her hair was about to change her life forever and I don't know about you but me being taken care of Sal Salcedo's magic hands was one of the best experiences ever. He is my favorite hair stylist in LA and I need to be in his chair soon so I can enjoy the rest of the summer and not worry about my hair or having to get it done every day. If you've been meaning to change your hair style for a while now I totally recommend going short. To motivate you even more I'll leave you some reasons to dare yourself and do it.

Te va a volver a crecer

Suena medio a cliché pero es verdad. A mí me sorprendió lo rápido que me creció (literal fue de un día para otro). Además me fascina lo sano que se ve.

It grows back 

I know it sound like a cliché, but it’s true. I was surprised at how quickly it grew back (I literally saw the difference from one day to the next). I also love how healthy it looks!

Te da poder

No te puedo explicar la adrenalina que me da cada vez que me siento en la silla del salón sabiendo que me van a cortar algunas pulgadas de pelo. Todos los cambios son buenos, me llenan de energía y este definitivamente es de mis favoritos.

It’s empowering

There’s something adrenaline-boosting about sitting in the salon chair knowing that you’ll loose inches of hair. Sometimes changing a few things is good for you  and this is definitely one of my favorites.

 Es muy emocionante y divertido

Nada más aburrido que tener el mismo estilo que todo el mundo. Cada vez que te cortes el pelo vas a sentirte súper feliz de tu decisión –siempre y cuando lo hagas con un profesional–, sabiendo que te ves igual de increíble que antes. ¡No tengas miedo!

 It's exciting

Sometimes having the same style as everyone else can be super-boring. Every time you cut your hair you will feel happy about your decision (as long as you do it with a pro) knowing that you look. Don’t be afraid!

Tendrás nuevas formas de peinarte

El pelo recién cortado puede llegar a ser difícil de controlar (obvio a veces extraño mis trenzas y colitas de caballo jaja) pero siempre queda esa sensación de libertad. En menos de una semana te vas a acostumbrar a tu nuevo estilo. Si no sabes cómo peinarlo, pregúntale algunos tips a tu hair stylist.

You will learn how to style your new look

Shorter hair might be harder to style, especially since longer hair can be braided or thrown up into a ponytail but there is always that feeling of freedom. In less than a week you’ll get used to your new style. If you don’t know how to comb it, ask for some tips to your hair stylist.

Es ideal para el verano

¡Bye, calor! Seamos honestos, a casi nadie le gusta el pelo largo en la playa o en lugares de calor. A mi me fascina llevar el pelo suelto y es más fácil cuando está cortito porque da menos calor. ¡Inténtalo!

It’s way cooler in the summertime

Let's be honest here, no one enjoys dealing with their hair in summertime, Short hair doesn't give you that same discomfort. I love wearing my hair loose and it’s easier when it is short because it creates less heat. Try it!

¡Los amo! Acuérdense siempre que la vida es cambio y si cambiamos la forma de ver las cosas para bien, todo será siempre mejor.

WHERE TO CAFFEINATE

Primero lo indispensable: el café. Esta ciudad (igual que yo) se toma este tema muy en serio. Conseguir mi próxima dosis de cafeína mientas caminábamos fue increíble por las miles de opciones deliciosas que encontré.

This city just like me, takes coffee very seriously. Getting my daily dose of caffeine while I was walking was amazing because I found a lot of great coffee shops.

¡No saben la delicia! Además de tener buen café, se especializan en donas, pasteles y helados italianos de mil colores. El lugar está súper cool porque tiene una terraza al aire libre y está abierto desde temprano los 7 días de la semana.

This place is great! Good coffee, Italian cakes and ice cream are some of the delicious things you can find here. It has an outdoor terrace and is open early 7 days a week.

Amé la filosofía de esta marca que cree en que todo el mundo merece tomar un buen café. La gente que vive en Chicago usa este lugar para reunirse y tener juntas de trabajo.

I loved the philosophy of this brand which believes that everyone deserves to have a good cup of coffee. The people who live in Chicago come to this place for work meetings.

Es una de las cafeterías más populares por tener súper buen WiFi (literal jajaja). Su menú cambia según el lugar y va desde el clásico americano, hasta café con Nutella.

It's one of the most popular coffee shops, famous for having good WiFi (literally hahaha). Its menu changes according to the place.

Loews Chicago Hotel

Este es uno de los hoteles más bonitos y el que se convirtió en mi segunda casa durante estos días. La decoración es minimalista y es conocido por su spa, que pude disfrutar al final del viaje.

This is one of the nicest hotels and the one that became my second home during these days. The decor is minimalist and is well known for its spa.

The Ledge at Skydeck

El primer día fuimos a este mirador que es uno de los puntos más conocidos de la ciudad y es famoso por su piso de cristal. Tengo que aceptar que sí sentí un poco de vértigo jajaja pero me divertí. 

It is one of the main attractions of the city and is famous for its glass floor. I have to accept that I did feel a bit nervous, but mainly had fun.

Todo el edificio tiene una vibra increíble. Además, la terraza y el restaurante están deli para descansar un ratito y tomar café. 

The whole building had an incredible vibe and the restaurant is perfect for hanging out for a while.

Navy Pier

Esta es una de las principales atracciones turísticas y una de mis favoritas porque tiene restaurantes, bares, museos, teatros además de excursiones en bote para pasear por el lago Michigan. ¡Soy fan de The Centennial Wheel!

This is one of the main tourist attractions and one of my favorites because it has restaurants, bars, museums, theaters as well as boat trips to tour around Lake Michigan. I loved The Centennial Wheel!

Este observatorio tiene mil actividades recreativas además de paisajes impresionantes de las costas y de los estados vecinos.

This observatory has amazing landscapes and views of the coasts and neighboring states.

WHERE TO EAT

BBQ! 

Este es uno de los platillos típicos y lo venden en mil lugares como en el festival Windy City Smoke Out. Por favor vean el postre que me comí jajaja...

I ate the best BBQ and dessert EVER when we went to the Windy City Smoke Out Festival. 

P.D. Ya descubrí por qué hay palomitas en todos lados... Bueno pues resulta que este snack y los pretzels forman parte de la cultura popular y ha sido tomado como referencia en diferentes países. Muchas familias tienen sus propias recetas y hay de mil sabores. Las mejores que probé tenían queso cheddar jajaja. YUM!

P.S. I finally discovered why they sell popcorn everywhere ... Well it turns out that this snack is part of their popular culture and has been taken as a reference in different countries. Many families have their own recipes and the best ones I ate had cheddar cheese hahaha. YUM!

RPM Steak

No soy tan fan de la carne, ya saben que amo el sushi y la pasta pero la que comimos aquí fue la mejor del mundo. La hamburguesa de trufa negra con mantequilla de foie gras, es otra de sus especialidades. De verdad, no me van a quedar mis jeans cuando regrese a México jajaja. 

I'm not such a fan of meat (you know I love sushi) but the one we ate here was the best in the world. The black truffle burger with foie gras butter is another of its most popular dishes.

ETA Restaurant + Bar

Si hay algo que me gusta de conocer lugares nuevos, son los restaurantes que tienen comida local. Esta taberna sirve comida rústica y buenos drinks. 

Whenever I go to a new place, I like to try local food and this tavern offers rustic food and good drinks.

The Signature Room on The 95th Floor

Este lugar fue el cierre perfecto de este viaje inolvidable. La comida estuvo perfecta, la vista irreal. ¿Qué más puedo pedir?

This place was the perfect ending of this unforgettable trip. The food was delicious and the view was spectacular!

Ella siempre será una de mis favoritas si hablamos de estilo. Por una parte admiro mucho que escogiera este vestido de Alexander McQueen –el mismo diseñador que usó en su boda– en color neutro para dejarte todo el protagonismo de Meghan pero tengo que aceptar que soy tan fan del tocado de Philip Treacey... Si tuviera que usar este look definitivamente le agregaría toques de color. 

She will always be one of my favorites if we talk about style. On the one hand, I admire that she chose this dress by Alexander McQueen -the same designer she used at her wedding- in a neutral color to leave all of Meghan's role but I have to accept that I'm such a fan of Philip Treacey's headdress ... If I had that using this look would definitely add touches of color.

100% usaría este vestido amarillo de Stella McCartney con el tocado de Stephen Jones. Cumple con el protocolo real pero se ve muy fresca y alegre. ¡AMO los zapatos de Gianvito Rossi!

I would definitely wear this yellow dress made by Stella McCartney. It goes well with the actual protocol but it looks very fresh and cheerful. I LOVE Gianvito Rossi's shoes!

Me gustaron mucho las flores en la parte inferior de la falda de este vestido de Dolce & Gabbana y el tocado verde de Philip Treacy. Los tacones se me hicieron un poco señoriales pero en general me gustó el outfit. 

I really liked the flowers on the bottom of the skirt of this Dolce & Gabbana dress and the green headdress by Philip Treacy. The heels were a bit stately but in general I liked the outfit.

¡Arte Careyes 2018 con Mercedes-Benz!

¡Hola mis amores! Espero que estén teniendo una semana increíble. Hoy quiero contarles que hace unos días estuve en Careyes, uno de mis destinos favoritos en México que está entre Manzanillo y Puerto Vallarta. El fin de semana empezó conociendo la casa que Mercedes-Benz escogió para todos los que nos quedamos ahí. ¡El lugar está irreal! Lo primero que hicimos después de estar un rato en el sol fue probar la cocina típica. Todo estuvo delicioso, lo disfruté muchísimo.

Hi my loves! I hope you are having an amazing week. Today I want to tell you that a few days ago I was in Careyes, one of my favorite destinations in Mexico which is between Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta. The weekend started by touring the house that Mercedes-Benz chose for all of us to stay at. This place is amazing! The first thing we did after spending some time by the pool was to taste the typical food. It was all delicious!

La razón de nuestra visita, además de conmemorar los 25 años de Mercedes-Benz en México, fue la octava edición de Arte Careyes. Año con año en este festival se engloban diferentes categorías como cine, música, arte y propuestas culturales. Fiestas, cenas y diferentes muestras o exposiciones, son algunas de las celebraciones incluidas en el festival más conocido de la costa del Pacífico.

The reason why we went to Careyes, besides commemorating the 25 years of Mercedes-Benz in Mexico, was for the eighth edition of Arte Careyes. Every year this festival includes different categories to it such as cinema, music, art and more. Parties, dinners and different exhibitions are some of the celebrations included in this festival at the Pacific coast.

Una de las cosas que más me gustaron del viaje fue el recorrido que hicimos por las playas vírgenes y la selva para probar las camionetas de off-road de Mercedes Benz. ¡AMÉ la experiencia! Al terminar la prueba, visitamos el ícono de Careyes: la Copa del Sol. 

One of the things I liked the most about the trip was the trip we took on the beach and the jungle inside the Mercedes Benz off-road cars. I LOVED this experience! At the end of the ride, we visited La Copa del Sol.

En la noche fuimos a una cena y a una fiesta pero casi siempre tratamos de disfrutar el día lo más posible y sobre todo, descansar.

In the evenings we attended to some dinner parties but also took the time to rest and enjoy the sun as much as possible.

¡Hola mis amores! En esta ocasión me gustaría platicarles sobre algunas de las personas de más de 70 años que son muy relevantes en el ámbito de la moda. Todos estos personajes han formado parte de este maravilloso mundo y han inspirado a diseñadores, modelos, bloggers y periodistas por sus largas y exitosas carreras.

Hello my loves! This time around I’d like to talk to you about the people over 70 years old that are still making noise and are still relevant in the fashion industry. All of these amazing characters have been a part of this wonderful world of fashion and have inspired designers, models, bloggers and journalists for their long and successful careers.

Iris Apfel

Comencemos con la más famosa, conocida por sus extravagantes combinaciones de ropa y joyería en grandes formatos y de muchos colores, excelente sentido del estilo y por supuesto su gusto tan ecléctico por los lentes. Con sus 96 años esta GRAN personalidad ha influenciado y ha sido musa de grandes diseñadores y hasta le han dedicado toda una exposición a ella y a su estilo en el Metropolitan Art Museum en Nueva York. Apfel creció en Queens, Nueva York, y esta ciudad siempre la ha influenciado a ella en todo lo que hace, junto con su esposo Carl Apfel tenían una fábrica de textiles lo cual era el match perfecto dado a sus increíbles combinaciones para el diseño de interiores. Ha decorado en 6 administraciones diferentes diversos espacios de la Casa Blanca.

Lo que más admiro en ella es su capacidad de lograr looks completos combinando piezas de alta costura y marcas súper reconocidas junto con otras tipo vintage o que compra en los lugares más inesperados.

Iris Apfel

Let’s start with the most famous one, known for her extravagant combinations of clothing and jewelry in big formats and lots of colors, excellent sense of style and of course her eclectic taste in glasses. At 96 years old this HUGE personality has influenced and has been a muse for important designers and even has been dedicated a whole exhibit to her name at The Metropolitan Art Museum in New York. Apfel grew up in Queens, New York and this city has always influenced her in everything she does, along with her late husband Carl Apfel they used to run a textile company which made the perfect match given that she created  incredible combos for interior designing. She has decorated several rooms for the White House in 6 different administrations.

What I love the most about her is her ability to pull of complete looks mix and matching haute couture garments from very prestigious brands with other pieces vintage like or that maybe she found at the flea market.

Carolina Herrera

Esta diseñadora recién retirada de las pasarelas es sin duda una de las más reconocidas en el mundo, súper exitosa y que ha empoderado a la mujer en los últimos 37 años de carrera. Esta maravillosa diseñadora de modas ha vestido a las mujeres más importantes e influyentes en el mundo como. Teniendo un emporio que cuenta con líneas de ropa Ready-to-Wear, Novias, Perfumería, bolsas y accesorios y alta costura, Carolina Herrera es un verdadero ícono que se ha encargado de vestir a la mujer elegante y sofisticada del día de hoy a lo largo de las últimas décadas. Reconocida por su gusto impecable, por siempre vestir muy elegante y chic, definitivamente una inspiración y una de mis favoritas de todos los tiempos.

This fashion designer has just retired from the runways and is without a doubt one of the most well known in the world, she’s super successful and has empowered women in the last 37 years through her career. This wonderful designer has dressed some of the most important and influential women in the world. Having an empire that counts with numerous clothing  lines like Ready-to-Wear, Bridal, Fragrances, handbags, accessories and haute couture. Carolina Herrera is a true icon that has taken the lead in dressing women elegantly and with sophistication since the last decades. Known for her impeccable taste, always dressing super classy and chic, she is definitely an inspiration and one of my faves of all times.

Joan Didion

Esta periodista y escritora trabajó durante 7 años para la revista VOGUE como editora y ha escrito numerosos artículos, obras de teatro, novelas y más. Esta maravillosa ensayista es muy respetada en el medio literario por su enfoque en la representación social y fragmentación psicológica, esto lo podemos ver en alguno de sus escritos como son: Run River (1963), Play It as It Lays (1970 y que más tarde la adaptó a una obra de teatro), Democracy (1984), entre otras. Ha ganado diversos premios  por su trabajo y su historia completa la podemos ver en el documental Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold (2017).

Born in Sacramento, California, journalist and writer, she worked for 7 years at VOGUE as an editor and has written a lot of articles, plays, novels and more. This amazing essayist is very well known and respected in the literary world for her social representation and psychological fragmentation, which we can see in some of her work like: Run River (1963), Play It as It Lays (1970 which later she adapted into a play), Democracy (1984), and more. She has won many awards for her work and her complete story we can catch by watching the documentary Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold (2017).

A sus 72 años de edad la espectacular modelo ha aparecido en diversas portadas de revistas de moda como Marie Claire y Harper’s Bazaar, ha sido musa de varios fotógrafos a lo largo de su carrera, sobretodo ha sido muy reconocida en nuestro país por haber aparecido en la campaña publicitaria de El Palacio de Hierro en el 2015. Otro aspecto por el cual es súper famosa es por haber sido la musa del pintor Salvador Dalí. Ella comenzó su carrera de modelaje por accidente al ser descubierta a los 13 años en un autobús en la ciudad de Nueva York por la esposa de un fotógrafo reconocido del momento. Su porte, elegancia y estilo la hacen una de las mujeres más bellas a la fecha.

At her 72 years of age this spectacular model has appeared in many cover of important magazines like Marie Claire and Harper’s Bazaar, she has been a muse to several photographers along her career, she’s specially known in our country for having appeared in the Palacio de Hierro campaign in 2015. Another crazy aspect that defines her is that she was Salvador Dali’s muse. She started her modeling career by accident after being discovered on a bus in New York City by a famous Photographer’s wife. Her poise, elegance and style makes her one of the most beautiful women alive.

Esta mega personalidad del Internet se volvió famosa tras cumplir los 85 años de edad se volvió famosa por sus fotografías en Instagram y por el hashtag que incluía que dice “Stealing your man since 1928” y hoy tiene más de 3 millones de followers y es ovacionada por sus fotos súper excéntricas con prendas de ropa muy coloridas y atrevidas. 

Baddie Winkle

This huge Internet personality has turned famous after turning 85 years old, WOW! She became famous for her pictures on Instagram and them having the hashtag that reads “Stealing your man since 1928” this social media celeb and pro legalizing medical marijuana enthusiast has more than 3 million followers and is constantly acclaimed for her eccentric pics wearing colorful and bold clothes.

Yayoi Kusama

Esta artista japonesa contemporánea es reconocida por sus pinturas, instalaciones, esculturas, poesía, moda y otras formas de expresión artísticas. Su trabajo es basado en un estilo conceptual inspirado sobretodo en el Pop Art, esta hippie de corazón plasma en su trabajo bajo esquemas de minimalismo, surrealismo y feminismo. Estudió en la Escuela de Artes de Kyoto y se mudó a Nueva York en 1958 para estar cerca de lo que más la inspiraba: el movimiento avant-garde. Algunas de sus piezas, instalaciones o performances se basan en el cuerpo desnudo en forma de protesta como lo hizo en los 60’s en contra de la Guerra de Vietnam. En el 2017 se inauguró el Yayoi Kusama Museum en Tokio en donde se exhiben muchas de sus piezas.

Yayoi Kusama

This japanese contemporary artist is known for her paintings, installations, sculptures, poetry, fashion and other artistic expressions. Her work is based in a conceptual style inspired mostly by Pop Art, this hippie at heart translates her work under a minimal, surreal and feminist scheme. She studied at the Kyoto School of Arts and Crafts and moved to New York in 1958 just so she could be close to her true love: the avant-garde movement. Some of her pieces, installations or performances are based on the human naked body as a form of protest like the ones she did in the 60’s against the Vietnam War. In 2017 the Yayoi Kusama Museum in Tokyo opened and her work is featured there.

¡Feliz lunes mis amores! ¿Se han preguntado cómo era la vida de los grandes diseñadores de moda antes de fundar o formar parte de la historia de las marcas más importantes de moda? A pesar de que muchos de ellos empezaron desde muy jóvenes como aprendices y se fueron forjando un nombre en el mundo de la moda, existen casos como el de Carolina Herrera quien debutó con su primera colección hasta 1981. Descubre una probadita de la historia de ella y otras figuras míticas de la industria para saber qué estaban haciendo cuando tenían 20 años o más. 

Happy Monday my loves! Have you ever wondered what life was like for great fashion designers before founding or being part of the history of the most important fashion brands? Although many of them started from very young as apprentices and were forging a name in the world of fashion, there are designers like Carolina Herrera who made her first collection in 1981. Discover a little bit of their history to know what they were doing when they were 20 years old. 

Christian Dior

Durante su juventud hacía dibujos y bocetos para Agnès y Schiaparelli. Poco después trabajó como diseñador en la casa Piguet y fue hasta 1947 cuando presentó su primera colección llamada Corolle que destaca por el revolucionario New Look –que hace referencia a diseños con faldas amplias, cuerpo ceñido y cintura marcada–. Ese mismo año se consagró como diseñador y perfumista al lanzar también la fragancia Miss Dior. 

When he was young he made drawings and sketches for Agnès and Schiaparelli. Shortly after, he worked as a designer at the Piguet house and it was until 1947 when he presented his first collection called Corolle that stands out for the revolutionary New Look, which refers to designs with wide skirts, tight body and marked waist-. That same year he also launched the Miss Dior fragrance.

Yves Saint Laurent

Antes de ser uno de los nombres míticos de la alta costura, Yves era fanático de revistas como Vogue y de Marcel Proust, su autor favorito. A los 17 años se fue a vivir a París para aprender más sobre moda, textiles y confección. Mostró sus diseños a Michel de Brunhoff, director de Vogue, quien decidió publicarlos en la revista. En 1954 comenzó a trabajar con Christian Dior, de quien se convertiría en mano derecha hasta la muerte de éste, en 1957. Poco después fue nombrado director de arte de la firma y presentó su primera colección:Trapecio.

Before being one of the mythical names of haute couture, Yves was a fan of magazines like Vogue and Marcel Proust, his favorite author. At age 17 he moved to Paris to learn more about fashion, textiles and clothing. He showed his designs to Michel de Brunhoff, director of Vogue, who decided to publish them in the magazine. In 1954 he began working with Christian Dior, who became a right-hand man until his death in 1957. Soon after, he was appointed art director of the firm and presented his first collection: Trapeze.

Coco Chanel

A los 23 años, Chanel empezó a confeccionar sombreros mientras vivía con el oficial de caballería y heredero textil francés, Étienne Balsan. Gabrielle casi siempre llevaba puestas su propias y vanguardistas creaciones que contrastaban con los vestidos elegantes de la época. En 1909inauguró una boutique financiada por Balsan en la planta baja de su departamento y al año siguiente estableció su casa de moda, Chanel Modes, en el número 21 de la rue Cambon en París.

At age 23, Chanel began making hats while living with the French textile heir and cavalry officer, Étienne Balsan. Gabrielle almost always wore her own avant-garde creations that contrasted with the elegant dresses of the time. In 1909 she opened a boutique financed by Balsan on the ground floor of his apartment and the following year she established her fashion house, Chanel Modes, at number 21 on rue Cambon in Paris.

Karl Lagerfeld

Se mudó a París en 1953 teniendo 14 años y dos años después, a los 22 años empezó a trabajar en la firma Pierre Balmain, luego de presentarse en un concurso de diseño promovido por la secretaría Internacional de la Lana. En dicho certamen ganó en la categoría de abrigos, pero perdió en la de vestidos frente a Yves Saint Laurent. Tres años más tarde, se trasladó a la casa Jean Patou, donde realizó sus primeras colecciones de alta costura.

He moved to Paris in 1953 when he was 14 years old and two years later. When he was 22 years old, he started working at the firm Pierre Balmain, after presenting himself in a design contest promoted by the International Lana secretariat. In this contest won in the category of coats, but lost in the dresses against Yves Saint Laurent. Three years later, he moved to the Jean Patou house, where he made his first haute couture collections.

A sus 20 años simplemente era amante de la moda ya que fue hasta los años 80 cuando empezó a diseñar, impulsada por la icónica editora de moda Diane Vreeland, quien trabajó para Vogue y Harper's Bazaar.

At 20 she was simply a fashion lover since it was until the 80s when she started designing, driven by the iconic fashion editor Diane Vreeland, who worked for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

Giorgio Armani

Cuando tenía 20 años entró a la escuela de medicina. Sin embargo, dejó su carrera para cumplir con su servicio militar. Fue ahí cuando tuvo la oportunidad de viajar a Milán y experimentar con la moda. Al finalizar su servicio, trabajó como asistente de fotografía y diseño.

When he was 20 years old he entered medical school. However, he left his career to fulfill his military service. It was there when he had the opportunity to travel to Milan and experiment with fashion. At the end of her service, she worked as a photography and design assistant.

Marc Jacobs

Nacido en Nueva York, Jacobs se dio a conocer por popularizar el movimiento grunge. A sus 21 años se graduó en diseño de moda por la Escuela Parsons y es nombrado estudiante de diseño del año. Poco después, conoció a Robert Duffy, su socio y descubridor. Gracias al acuerdo alcanzado con LVMH, su firma homónima pudo convertirse en lo que es hoy en día. A sus 23 años presentó su primera colección.

Born in New York, Jacobs became known for popularizing the grunge movement. At 21, she graduated in fashion design from Parsons School and is named design student of the year. Soon after, he met Robert Duffy, his partner and discoverer. Thanks to the agreement reached with LVMH, its homonymous signature could become what it is today. At 23, he presented his first collection.

Olivier Rousteing

El actual director creativo de Balmain, a los 20 años trabajó con Roberto Cavalli y se convirtió en el director creativo de la firma homónima del diseñador a los 26 años.

The current creative director of Balmain, at age 20, worked with Roberto Cavalli and became the creative director of the designer's namesake firm at age 26.

Michael Kors

Se mudó a Nueva York para estudiar moda. Sin embargo, Kors dejó la escuela dos años después y a los 20 años trabajó en la boutique Lothar´s, lugar en el que diseñó y lanzó su primera colección.

He moved to New York to study fashion. However, Kors left school two years later and at the age of 20 worked at Lothar's boutique, where he designed and launched his first collection.

Diane Von Fürstenberg

Estudió en la Universidad de Madrid antes de trasladarse a la Universidad de Ginebra para estudiar economía. Luego se mudó a París y trabajó como asistente del agente del fotógrafo de modas Albert Koski. Después, Diane viajó de París a Italia para trabajar como aprendiz del fabricante textil Angelo Ferretti en su fábrica, donde aprendió sobre corte, color y tela. Fue aquí donde diseñó y produjo sus primeros vestidos de jersey de seda. Un año después de casarse, Diane von Fürstenberg comenzó a diseñar ropa para mujeres. En 1974, presentó el su wrap dress, prenda que debido a su influencia en la moda femenina, se encuentra en la colección del Costume Institute del Metropolitan Museum of Art.

¿Cómo ser blogger?

¡Hola mis amores! Hace algunos días me pidieron que les contara a detalle qué estudié y cómo comencé a ser blogger de moda y los secretos para lograr crecer tanto en el blog como en redes sociales. Por eso, hoy les escribo este post en el que les revelo algunos detalles sobre mi carrera y vida profesional. Creo que el secreto es ser constante, hacer las cosas con el corazón, creer en ti y tener la convicción de que los sueños sí se convierten en realidad.

Happy Tuesday my loves! A few days ago you asked me how did I started to be a blogger and the secrets to achieve growth both in the blog and in social media. So today I write this post in which I reveal some details about my career and professional life to tell you that I believe that the secret is to be constant, to follow your heart, to believe in yourself and to have the conviction that dreams do come true.

SOBRE LA CARRERA QUE ESTUDIÉ

Estudié Diseño Textil en la Universidad Iberoamericana de la Ciudad de México y les puedo decir que fue una de las etapas más felices de mi vida. ¡Amaba ir a la universidad! ¿Por qué escogí esta carrera? Bueno primero que nada porque siempre me ha cautivado todo el proceso de creación de la tela y materiales innovadores dentro de la industria textil y todo lo relacionado a ello como por ejemplo la industria de la moda y los diseñadores tanto de nuestro país como aquellos que fundaron las firmas internacionales más reconocidas. Lo que más me gustó de esta carrera es que estudiamos las tendencias del mercado, nos enseñaron a coordinar el proceso de producción, comercialización y difusión de productos además de motivarnos a crear nuestros propios diseños y colecciones. Un año antes de terminar mi carrera, presenté mis diseños en el MBFWMx. ¡Fue una experiencia increíble que nunca olvidaré! Siempre lo he sabido, lo que más me gusta en la vida es la moda. 

ABOUT THE CAREER I STUDIED

I studied textile design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and I can say it was one of the happiest times of my life. Why did I choose this carreer? First of all because I have always been captivated by the entire process of creation of the fabric and innovative materials within the textile industry and everything related to it, such as the fashion industry and the Mexican designers and those who founded the most recognized international brands. What I liked the most about this career is that we studied the market trends, they taught us to coordinate the production process, marketing and dissemination of products as well as motivating us to create our own designs and collections. A year before finishing my career, I showed my designs at the MBFWMx. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget! I've always known, what I like the most in life is fashion.

¿DÓNDE TRABAJÉ?

Casi terminando mi carrera estuve trabajando un año en Grupo Kaltex, que además de producir millones de metros de tela y complementos como hilo y fibras sintéticas al año, es uno de los mayores exportadores de textiles en México y América Latina. Me encantó trabajar aquí porque pude hacer varias cosas desde conocer cómo es el día a día en las fábricas de acabado textil, hilatura y prendas de vestir, hasta ver los procesos e involucrarme con el departamento de diseño, responsable de elegir tonos de mezclilla, colores, estampados y hasta del diseño gráfico. Fue aquí donde comencé a armar mis Moodboards en Pinterest inspirándome en las tendencias de color del momento.

AT WHAT COMPANY WAS I EMPLOYED?

When I almost finished my career I worked one year at Grupo Kaltex, which beside producing million meters of fabric and complements as thread and synthetic fibers, is one of the major exporters of textiles in Mexico and Latin America. I loved working here because I did several things from knowing how everything works in the factories, up to seeing the processes in the design department that is in charge of choosing colors, prints and more. It was here where I began to arm my Moodboards in Pinterest.

¿QUÉ HACÍA ANTES DE EMPEZAR MI BLOG? 

Empecé Allier Atellier justo después de que me salí de trabajar de esta empresa enorme textilera. Los primeros diseños que hice fueron vestidos para ocasiones especiales para mis amigas, para mi mamá y mi hermana. Fue así como decidí empezar un taller de vestidos a la medida.

WHAT DID I DO BEFORE STARTING MY BLOG?
I started Allier Atellier in 2013, just after I left that huge textile company. The first designs I made were dressed for special occasions for my friends, for my mom and my sister. That's how I decided to start a tailor-made clothing workshop.

Este proyecto estuvo lleno de retos, emociones y sorpresas. No puedo definir exactamente cómo empezó, pero después de un buen tiempo que busqué trajes de baño diferentes a los que todas teníamos, decidí empezar esta línea confirmando que aunque podremos tener tallas similares, para que un traje te quede perfecto, tiene que estar hecho a la medida o bien, recibir unos ajustes que se adapten al tipo de cuerpo y resalten nuestros mejores atributos. Poco después de esto, empezó a tomar fuerza el blog, y cada vez había más trabajo en todos los frentes. Continué así por un par de años, hasta que empecé a descuidar algunos aspectos importantes y me tuve que replantear lo que quería hacer en mi vida y de mi vida. Así que decidí ponerle pausa a ambos proyectos y dedicarme de tiempo completo a ser editora de Pamallier.com.

ABOUT ALLIER SWIMWEAR

This project was full of challenges, emotions and surprises. I can not define exactly how it started, but after a long time I looked for different swimsuits than we all had, I decided to start this line confirming that although we can have similar sizes, for a suit to be perfect, it has to be to the measure or, to receive some adjustments that adapt to the type of body and highlight our best attributes. Shortly after this, the blog began to grow, and I had a lot of work. I continued like this for a couple of years, until I began to consider some important aspects and I had to rethink what I wanted to do in my life and my life. So I decided to pause both projects and dedicate myself full time to be editor of Pamallier.com.

This digital adventure began in 2014 with the name Pearls and Camellias. After making some adjustments, the site changed to Pam Allier. I still remember my first post. ¡Hola mis amores! Ya llegó la primavera y con ello mis tan adorados días soleados. Esta estación me fascina porque nos permite idear looks divertidos sin tanto calor. ¿Cuándo y dónde?

El año pasado, la casa de moda italiana ideó una nueva estrategia para reforzar su presencia en América Latina, a través de dos tiendas pop-up, así como su primera tienda outlet en México. La pasarela será en el Museo Soumaya en próximo 18 de abril. Fue el mismo Stefano Gabbana quien confirmó la noticia a través de su cuenta de Instagram.

When and where?

Last year, the Italian fashion house launched a new strategy to reinforce their presence in Latin America, through two pop-up stores as well as their first outlet store on Mexican soil. The runway will be at the Soumaya Museum on April 18. It was Stefano Gabbana who confirmed the news in his Instagram account.

La noticia surge después de que la marca inauguró dos tiendas pop-up en nuestra ciudad, la primera en Vía Santa Fe y la segunda en el Palacio de Hierro Polanco, ofreciendo servicio personalizado para accesorios y sneakers (¡me fascinan!) así como sus colecciones de pret-à-porter. La firma italiana tiene cinco tiendas en total, todas ubicadas en la Ciudad de México, Cancún y Guadalajara. 

The news comes after the brand opened two pop-up stores in our city, the first in Vía Santa Fe and the second in El Palacio de Hierro Polanco, offering personalized service for accessories and sneakers (I love them!) as well as their pret-a-porter collections. El reto de las 52 semanas:

Este primer tip consiste en un reto semanal que al principio es fácil de cumplir pero conforme avanzan los meses se pone un poco más complicado. Durante un año tendrás que guardar cierta cantidad de dinero. La primera semana 10 pesos, la segunda 20 pesos y así consecutivamente. Te impresionará la cantidad que tendrás al final. 

The challenge of the 52 weeks:

This first tip consists of a weekly challenge that at first will be easy to fullfill but as the months pass it gets a bit more complicated. For a year you will have to sabe a certain amount of money. The first week 10 pesos, the second 20 pesos and so one, you will be impressed by the final amount.

El desafío de los 365 días:

Este es similar al otro pero en vez de ahorrar cada semana ahorrarás cada día. Si ahorras de peso en peso al final de la semana tendrías 28 pesos y eso lo multiplicarías por lo que guardes el resto del año.

The 365 day challenge:

This is similar to the other one but instead of saving every week you will do it every day. If you save little by little, at the end of the week you will have a good amount that later will be multiplied by what you saved the rest of the year.

Método Harv Eker:

Este método está registrado en el libro “Los secretos de la mente millonaria” del autor y es una técnica que consiste en saber en qué inviertes todo tu dinero. Para lograrlo tienes que dividir tus ganancias mensuales y destinarlas la mitad a necesidades básicas y el resto del 50% dividido entre ocio, ahorro, caridad, capacitación, inversión.

Harv Eker method:

This method is registers in the book “The secrets of the millionaire mind” of the author and is a technique that consists of knowing in what you invest all your money. To achieve this you have to divide your monthly earnings and allocate half of them to basic needs and the rest of the 50% divided between leisure, savings, charity, training, and investment.

Este libro japonés explica de la forma más simple cómo nuestra forma de economizar ha ido cambiando. Necesitas utilizar una simple libreta en la que registres tus gastos mensuales y estar conscientes de todo el dinero que gastas y así valorar aquello en lo que si vale la pena hacerlo.

This Japanese book explains in the simplest way how our way of economizing has changed. You need to use a simple notebook in which you record your monthly expenses and be aware of all the money you spend and that way you’ll be able to value what is more worthy.

¡Feliz Día de la Mujer! El empoderamiento femenino hoy en día lo es todo. Me hace muy feliz decir que desde chica tengo cerca a muchas mujeres que son excelentes en todo lo que hacen y literalmente son el vivo concepto de la Wonder Woman contemporánea. 5 cosas que hago cuando regreso de un viaje largo

¡Hola mis amores! Ya conocen mi fascinación por los viajes pero también para mí es fundamental estar en mi casa, cerca de Pablo, de mi familia y de mis amigos. Por eso hay días como hoy en los que tengo menos de 24 horas antes de irme nuevamente y me gusta aprovecharlos al máximo. Para que conozcas un poco más sobre mi día a día, te digo qué hago exactamente cuando regreso de un viaje largo.

Hi my loves! They already know my fascination for travel but also for me it is essential to be in my house, close to Pablo, my family and my friends. That's why there are days like today where I have less than 24 hours before I leave again and I like to make the most of them. So that you know a little more about my day to day, I tell you what I do exactly when I come back from a long trip.

1. Veo a Pablo.

Amo llegar a mi casa y platicar horas con él. No importa si es demasiado temprano o tarde, tratamos de estar pasar el mayor tiempo posible juntos. Casi siempre es él quien me lleva al aeropuerto o trata de alcanzarme si estoy de viaje aunque sea unos días.

I love coming to my house and talking with him for hours. It does not matter if it's too early or late, we try to spend as much time as possible together. It is almost always he who takes me to the airport or tries to reach me if I'm traveling even if it is a few days.

2. Checo mis mails.

A veces, cuando estoy fuera por muchos días y de arriba para abajo se me complica checar todos los pendientes y responder los mails que recibo. Generalmente cuando llego se me quita el sueño y me pongo en acción (jajaja).

En París estuve feliz con mi hermana, pasamos días increíbles y nos divertimos mucho.

Desde ir al salón a hacerme manicure y pedicure hasta usar una sheet mask o hacerme un facial, siempre que me bajo del avión trato de sumarle algo así a mi rutina de belleza.

Todos los looks que usé en Fashion Week

¡Hola mis amores! Oficialmente esta semana termina Fashion Week y por eso me encantó hacerles este recap sobre la mayoría de los looks que elegí en cada una de las capitales de la moda. Si pudiera escoger una tendencia en particular, diría que las prendas extremadamente abrigadoras y prácticas dominaron el street style.

Hi my loves! Officially this week Fashion Week ends and for this I would like to make a recap on all the looks I used in each of the fashion capitals. If I could choose a particular trend, I would say that extremely warm and practical clothes conquered street style.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Fue el primer acercamiento a lo nuevo en las colecciones prêt-à-porter. Con cambios que van desde las colecciones combinadas para hombres y mujeres, hasta los formatos de pasarelas alternativas, el verdadero desafío fue vestirse cool para el clima frío y la nieve. Para los días que estuve en Nueva York usé conjuntos con diferentes texturas, tonos y gamas de color. 

It was the first approach to the new in prêt-à-porter collections. With changes ranging from combined collections for men and women, to alternative gateway formats, the real challenge was to dress cool for cold weather and snow. For the days I was in New York I picked looks with different textures, shades and color ranges.

MILAN FASHION WEEK

El layering fue lo más visto en Milán. Uno de los denominadores de estilo común fueron las bolsas chicas usadas sobre abrigos y a la cintura. Sobre los códigos de vestimenta, las combinaciones entre prendas deportivas y con diferentes estampados así como los tejidos en piel y botines de diferentes colores y materiales. 

The layering was the most seen trend in Milan. One of the denominators of common style were the small bags used on coats. About the dress codes, the combinations between sportswear and with different prints as well as the leather fabrics and booties of different colors and materials.

PARIS FASHION WEEK

El clima frío en París durante la Semana de la Moda me permitió usar mucha ropa de invierno. El street style que vi esta semana estuvo protagonizado por los textiles monocromáticos y por prendas vibrantes.

The cold weather in Paris during Fashion Week allowed me to wear a lot of winter clothes. The street style that I saw this week was led by monochromatic textiles and vibrant pieces.

Los mexicanos que impactaron en los premios Oscar

¡Hola mis amores! Es noche de Oscares y antes de platicarles cuáles fueron mis looks favoritos, me gustaría hablar de los mexicanos que sin duda se convirtieron en los protagonistas de la 90ª edición de los premios Oscar y de los que literalmente me declaro fan. Desde Gael García Bernal y Natalia Lafourcade, quien eligió un vestido espectacular hecho a mano por Yakampot, hasta Eiza González vestida de amarillo usando un diseño de Ralph Lauren. Otra de mis favoritas es y seguirá siendo siempre Salma Hayek quien llevó un vestido de Gucci y forma parte del movimiento #MeToo, a favor de la igualdad entre hombres y mujeres. 

Hi my loves! It's Oscars night and before telling you about my favorite looks, I would like to talk about the mexicans who undoubtedly became the protagonists of the 90th edition of the Oscars and those who literally declare myself a fan. From Gael García Bernal and Natalia Lafourcade, who chose a spectacular dress handmade by Yakampot, to Eiza González dressed in yellow using a Ralph Lauren design. Another of my favorites is and always will be Salma Hayek who wore a Gucci dress and is part of the #MeToo movement, in favor of equality between men and women.

Lo que más me emociona de los Oscares este año es que Gael García Bernal y Natalia Lafourcade cantarán el tema 'Recuérdame', de  la película de Pixar 'Coco' (una de mis favoritas) y que Guillermo del Toro es el director de la película más nominada del año: ‘La Forma del Agua’. 

What most excites me of the Oscars this year is that Gael García Bernal and Natalia Lafourcade will sing the song 'Remind me' of the Pixar movie 'Coco' (one of my favorites) and that Guillermo del Toro is the director of the film most nominated of the year: 'The Shape of Water'.

Además de las espectaculares mexicanas que caminaron por la alfombra roja, mi look favorito fue el de Jennifer Lawrence quien llevó un vestido de Dior. También me encantaron los vestidos de Gal Gadot quien se veía muy divertida usando un diseño de Givenchy y Margot Robbie quien usó un modelo customizado de Chanel. Esta pop-up store está dedicada al Archlight, unos tenis de gama alta para mujeres que pertenecen a la colección SS18 del diseñador. La tienda permanecerá abierta del 8 de febrero al 10 de marzo y contará con una exclusiva edición en negro. 

This pop-up store is dedicated to Archlight, a high-end tennis for women that belong to the designer's SS18 collection. The store will remain open from February 8 to March 10 and will have an exclusive black edition.

As many of you already know, one of my favorite social media pages is Instagram because I can share with all of you my daily looks, new trends and some of my favorite pieces of clothes and accessories. Between all the digital changes these platforms face, it may be a bit difficult to find the perfect image to post. But don´t worry about that, up next I will share with you some tips that will definitely help you to achieve the perfect look.

Desde el color de tu ‘lipstick’, hasta tus accesorios o un simple dobladillo realmente pueden marcar la diferencia en tu look final.

In fashion there is no right way to dress up, that’s why I always choose to have fun and definy my own style by selecting different clothes like a bomber jacket with pink high heels or unique sunglasses.
