¡Hola mis amores! Es importante que todos los días pongamos nuestro granito de arena para contaminar lo menos posible, reducir el uso de plásticos, ahorrar energía y luchar por preservar los recursos naturales, las especies de flora y fauna y cuidar el medio ambiente. Por eso, en este post quiero hablarte sobre la moda sustentable y el futuro del consumo y la industria de la moda.

Entendiendo qué es Fast fashion

Este término se usa para hablar sobre la producción masiva de prendas que entran y salen rápidamente de las tiendas. Es esta tendencia de consumo que es económica y de fácil acceso, y que cumple con el objetivo de vestir a la moda, pero se usa por poco tiempo y se desecha. Puede ser por la calidad de las prendas o porque dejan de ser tendencia. Por ejemplo, cada cambio de temporada, las prendas en la tienda son nuevas inspiradas en las pasarelas de alta moda.

Fast fashion refers to retailers mass-producing inexpensive clothing that moves in and out of stores quickly. The end to this trend is to consume a cheaper and easy access clothing. It leads to buying more clothes and use them for shorter amounts of time, because of the quality or seasonal trends. For instance, every new season, clothes on stores are different inspired by high fashion catwalks.

¿Qué es Moda sustentable?

Se refiere al proceso de producción de prendas y accesorios que es amable con el medio ambiente. Cada etapa del proceso de creación de una prenda cuida este detalle. Desde la materia prima hasta la venta. Se cuidan los recursos naturales, las fuentes de energía y se promueve el reciclaje y la reutilización.

Nuestro granito de arena en el consumo de ropa, es sobre pensar en comprar una prenda que puedes usar por más tiempo que una temporada, que usa menos recursos naturales y que crea menos contaminación.

This is about producing clothing and accessories in a way that is environmentally sustainable. Every stage of an article of clothing- from raw material production to the sale, ensuring efficient and careful use of natural resources, energy sources and maximizing repair, remake, reuse, and recycling of the product. We should learn to buy well-made clothing that lasts for years, rather than just a season, fewer resources are used and less pollution is created.

Tendencia del consumo de moda sustentable

Las marcas están también empezando a ser conscientes del cuidado del ambiente. Una marca sustentable requiere 5 características importantes:

Many fashion brands are beginning to follow a more ethical approach to manufacturing. Sustainable brands address five main issues:

• Uso del agua: Tratar de minimizar el consumo en la cadena de producción.

• Uso de químicos: Se usan para pintar las prendas. Las marcas sustentables están buscando alternativas para que estos pigmentos no dañen el ambiente.

• Ciclo corto de vida: La calidad de las prendas es un factor para que el ciclo de vida de la ropa sea mayor.

• Desperdicios: Por ejemplo, hacer un par de tenis con botellas de plástico reutilizables.

• Agricultura: Usar materiales orgánicos sin pesticidas que pueden ser dañinos para el ambiente.

• Water usage: Trying to minimize how much water they’re using

• Hazardous chemicals: Dyes used in production are often dangerous to the environment. Sustainable brands are trying to come up with alternative ways to dye textiles in a safer way.

• Short lifecycle: Ensuring that clothes last, so consumers buy less.

• Waste: Creating less waste from clothing for example, the creation of shoes with plastic bottles.

• Agriculture: Using organic materials that were grown without pesticides.

Apuesta por prendas de mejor calidad, líneas y colecciones hechas con recursos reciclables e incluso, de segunda mano. Antes de comprar una prenda, piensa con cuántas combinaciones la puedes llevar y cuántas veces podrías aprovecharla. ¡Que el cuidado del medio ambiente no sea solamente una moda, sino que se convierta en un estilo de vida para todos!
