Gray ...perfect between black and white.

Happy Sunday loves!!!! I hope you had an amazing weekend... today, we're talking about the perfect gray coat. 

So, if you have read this blog before, I'm sure you've noticed that I do love coat season. Coats, even if they're on a solid color, are statement pieces, and today we are going through some tips on how to rock the perfect coat for the season. 

First of all, we must understand that a nice, well made coat might be in our wordrobe for several seasons;  so unless you're Sarah Jessica Parker and can afford an entire collection of new coats for each season, we must buy intelligently. 

In my honest opinion, the two most important aspects of choosing a coat are the following: the color and the material. 

Color: neutrals must be our first choices if we're buying a coat for the first time. Black, blue, gray and camel are the top colors I'd choose. Of course green and burgundy are amazing colors but If I was to choose one, I'd stick to camel, gray and blue. If you already have one or two of these and use coats for more than three months, then a patterned one might be a nice choice. 

Material: It all depends on the weather you'll have in your town, but I strongly suggest all natural materials. Wool, cashmere, heavy cotton or a combination of these might be the best. 

As I bought last year my favorite camel coat, this season I bought a gray one. Comfy, 100% wool and on a very reasonable price (about US 65), I´ve used my gray coat with almost everything for the past couple of months (denim, skirt, PJ's... you name it).

Well, I thought that 50 shades of gray has been used a lot, so I won't name this post like that... even if I had a gray t-shirt, gray suede shoes and a gray bag. Yes, I love gray, and it´s the perfect balance between the loving black and the perfect white.

Buen domingo queridos!!! Espero hayan disfrutado su finde y estén listos para arrancar la nueva semana. Les cuento que este fin no salí casi nada de mi casa, porque todo esto del trabajo y el taller casi acaban conmigo, jaja.  (por cierto pronto les voy a contar sobre este asunto... nomás necesito un tiempo para superarlo, jaja, pero gracias por su apoyo y lindas palabras que tanto me animan). 

Hoy quiero contarles un poco sobre mi afición por los abrigos. Siempre les he dicho que dentro de cada uno de nuestros "outfits", es recomendable tener un "staement piece", o una pieza que luzca y sea la central. En mi opinión, cuando usamos un abrigo, este se vuelve el "statement piece", en independencia de que sea de un color neutro, y este que yo traigo hoy, es el segundo abrigo que tengo en mi clóset. El primero (que seguro ya lo han visto), es uno color camello y después compré este en gris. 

El día que me iba a comprar mi primer abrigo, me dieron un par de tips muy importantes y hoy se los quiero contar: 

El color. El color es muy importante porque todos los abrigos son largos y ocupan mucha parte de nuestro cuerpo... es decir, desde el cuello hasta abajo de las rodillas. Si solamente fueran a comprarse uno, yo buscaría colores neutrales: gris, camello, azul o negro. Claro, los hay en verde, rojo y vino, pero si fuera mi primero, buscaría algo más combinable (que es básico para sacarle el mejor provecho a nuestro dinero...) Yo tengo mi primero en camello, luego este en gris. 

Material: Los abrigos son para toda la vida, por lo que el material y la calidad del terminado son básicos. Siempre es importante buscar materiales naturales: lana, cashmere o algodón grueso son los mejores (o alguna combinación de estos). Si compramos uno de buena calidad, nos puede durar muchos, muchos años. 

Hoy, lo combiné con todo gris. Ya saben que me encanta el negro, el blanco, y también el gris, jaja que es la combinación de estos... y para no pensarle mucho, me puse mis jeans tipo "boyfriend", unos zapatos de gamuza y una bolsa en gris, además de una playera también en gris (siempre me saca de muchos apuros este color, jaja).
